Comedian AY – “Those Who Called Out Funke Akindele Should Do The Same With Oppressors In Government”

Following Funke Akindele and her husband prosecution, The Nigerian comedian, AY Makun has taken to social media via his Twitter page to react to their arrest.

The comedian and filmmaker said that he agrees nobody is above the law, he also said he wishes that those who called out Akindele can do the same thing for oppressors in the government.

The couple were arrested and arraigned for holding a birthday party at their home in Amen estate, Lagos, despite the government’s directive for people to practise social distancing due to the coronavirus pandemic.

He wrote: “Yes! Nobody is above the law. But I wish those of you who called out @funkeakindele can do same with your countless oppressors in government… Even when the sky is filled with clouds the sun still shines above. Funke will rise again.#lessonslearnt.”
